About Me

Hi there!
I’m Kat, a social worker and therapist based in Saskatoon on Treaty 6 Territory. I come from mixed Indigenous (Saulteaux, Cree, Nakoda) and European (Croatian, German, and others) ancestry, and I am a proud member of White Bear First Nations. Born and raised on Treaty 4 Territory in Regina, I carry these experiences into my work. My pronouns are she/her, and I’m part of the 2SLGBTQ+ and Neurodivergent community.
My path toward becoming a therapist began with my Psychology studies at the University of Regina. After receiving meaningful support through my own therapy journey, I felt called to give back. I later discovered that my values aligned most with social work, leading me to pursue a Master of Social Work (MSW) in the clinical stream at the University of Calgary. Moving provinces during the pandemic was challenging, but it strengthened my commitment to returning home and supporting my community.
After working in several group practices, I opened Empowering Insights Counselling Services in Saskatoon. My practice is dedicated to providing inclusive, culturally grounded, trauma-informed counselling with individuals. I use a client-led, relational approach that centres your voice, your pace, and your lived experience. I am committed to offering neurodivergent-affirming support and creating a safe, welcoming space for 2SLGBTQ+ clients. The name Empowering Insights came to me when I thought about what my underlying work is: empowering the innate insights clients have by walking alongside their life's journey.
My work focuses on helping people navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and other mental health concerns. I am passionate about supporting individuals on their healing journeys and empowering them to reconnect with their strengths, resilience, and sense of well-being.
At Empowering Insights Counselling Services, I support clients navigating a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem issues, eating disorders, trauma, career stress, academic pressures, physical health concerns, stress management, gender and sexual identity exploration, 2SLGBTQ+ support, grief, loss, and many other mental health needs. I am committed to providing personalized, compassionate care that helps you work through challenges and reclaim a sense of balance and well-being.
